i skated around downtown santa barbara with wesley, andrew, and greg. these are some photographs from the paseo parking garage.
i wanted a portrait of each of them. greg helped me set up this shot using his digital camera.
this is greg's version.
i promise this one wasn't set up.
my favorite shot of the day comes from greg. this is for my mother. she doesn't like me taking pictures because there are fewer pictures of myself. how's that mom?
i purchased a single fin recently, only after which was i told by a friend working at the shop "you're so stoked." i sure was glad to know how i felt. anyway... it is a beautiful surfboard.
andrew and myself made the brief trek off campus to the "glory house", a house full of seven spectacular men that we both find to be incredible role models.
we skated around the house for a bit.
this is pecos, he is a super individual. he also gave us advice about being art majors whilst we sat around a soggy firepit, in abandoned library chairs.
before i go any further with this blog i need to give credit where credit is due. inspiring people deserve credit for being inspiring (at least in my opinion).
this is ben krebs. he has been inspiring me since i was 12. i used to call him mom. we work at chop point camp together in the summer, and he has been very supportive of me taking photos and even starting this trendy blog. bless him for putting up with that.
..unfortunately i did not take this photo.
this isgreg swanson. i love hanging out with him. he has been kind enough to teach me how to use my camera, how to load the film and the rest of that nonsense. we have had lots of discussions about what is photography and what is picture taking, i feel i have a lot to learn.
this is severin koller. he is a street photographer purist and my favorite thus far.
this is my father. he is a photographer that is out of the trade right now. he inspires me in all aspects in life.
in regard to my linking to friends blogs, websites, or anything of the sort, i will be shamelessly advertising the work of the people who are helping me with this blog and much more. i humbly don't apologize.
these are some photographs from my first roll of film, shot on color negative ilford 400. here are the first few pictures taken on a night adventure to state street with greg, michael, and andrew.
here is a family portrait of the three of them.
a wall covered with what i would call jungle ivy, greg tried to climb it.
