BLUE BEARS

the night before i left, packing seemed like an impossible chore, and the only thing i wanted to do was go visit my chop point family. packing was no match for a few basketball games and bethany's curry.

here is dave, my summer boss and mentor with his daughter ella, he is the greatest and she is the cutest.

chop point blue bears... they've got team spirit if nothing else.

benkrebs. the encouragement behind me and anything creative that I do. also a master of self portraits.

HIMATIC

when benkrebs arrived at my house for our few days of awesomeness, he handed me a camera and in his typically casual demeanor said, "merry christmas." the camera was a minolta HiMatic, and one of these days I will put a picture up and describe its splendor. for now, here are some random pictures i made with it.

Pretty Women

i spent an afternoon earlier in january hanging out with tara and anita, we took some photos that they might be able to add to their portfolios. i have never done planned picture making before, it was a learning experience.

anita liked to pretend she didn't enjoy modeling, and then would somehow make it work beautifully.

tara has lovely boots.

OLD FRIENDS

some beautiful men came and visited us one night while i was at sugarloaf. they are some of the best friends i have ever had. this is evan, he has always been a tremendous friend. he introduced me to surfing despite my hesitations, he is the kind of friend who broadens your horizons...

alex and evan. alex is a world cup boardercross racer, and he shredz park with me when i get to ride during christmas break. we get along great, despite the three feet difference in height and the eighty pounds he has on me.

the bisson family made the drive to long lake to visit grandmother. here is a classic eyes closed phone call, she swears it helps you hear better.

we ate some lobster, my favorite food.. and my favorite photo.

we dealt with the food comatose.

SHAMELESS

too cool not to share. benkrebs is a gentlemen, a true friend, and an extremely talented individual. i have said it before, but i respect nobody more than him when it comes to art. anything i have learned thus far about photography and much more is a direct result of his guidance, advice, and inspiration.

CHRISTMAS TREE

lucien and i were sent to get the christmas tree, i thought it was awesome.

HOME IS WHERE THE HOT TUB IS

good to be home.

since my house is about ten feet from the road strange things always happen. a tire once hit the house directly outside from where i was sleeping on the couch, this summer a man fell asleep and hit the tree the that you can see in this photo. the most recent drama however is the car that actually hit the house, right outside of my mother sitting on the couch. she wasn't upset, just frustrated that she spilled her wine. also both times cars have crashed she has immediately thought it was me. here is a picture of the damage. our house has character.

 I love days ferry.

we ended up getting quite a bit of snow from this storm. that is my boathouse and the river. once the snow built up we dug a path down to the river to get to the hot tub, it's always exciting to sprint down in the snow.

TRAVEL

pictures from my travels home to maine, 3 weeks in my homeland for the holidays. pictures from break to come later.

our tiny airport in santa barbara is best airport i've ever been to. portland, maine is second best. this is literally the entire airport.

i'm not sure if it is poor photography but i am very into long exposures like this. i'm also cool with eight year olds getting their shoes polished. "executive shine." i'm actually a really big fan of this photograph.

i used to read children's books about famous americans, the wright brothers were featured in their own biography, i am very much appreciative of their contribution to society.

denver is so flat.

at what point do you admit that you aren't as creative as you thought, and that deep down you really just want to be severin.

DOWNTOWN

recently i spent the day by myself skateboarding all over santa barbara. i saw my friend christian performing and then spent the evening with him. 

TIME WELL SPENT

another afternoon at the glory house. greg took this first photo, and i think the second one too.

 the wildlife at this house is incredible, snakes, chickens, spiders, stone birds, real birds..

 jesse was making some cajons. he is quite the wood worker.
